The Lily-Pad Restaurant

The Lily-Pad was Mr. Toad's favourite restaurant mainly because of its extensive selection of amphibian meals. He had of course previously dined there many times with Mrs.Toad and the tadpoles but today he was to dine alone.

He studied the menu and it took some while for him to eventually settle on his final choice but , after much deliberation, he settled on the Dragonfly Soup for starters, Worm Pie with Large Flies for mains  and  the Woodlouse Ice-Cream to round off the meal nicely.

The Warkworth Fairy Picnic 2024

It was the fine weather that prompted the fairy picnic. The hampers were full, Mrs. Appleseed had baked her renowned  lemon drizzle cake and her husband filled a large stoneware flagon with his very best elderflower wine. To enhance the event the mayor decided that the occasion  merited the use of the very best crockery, and so it was that a basket full of the shire's official fairy plates  was also  brought along.
